Welcome to my Blog

Once or twice a week I intend to post comments or short articles on matters related to health and nutrition. I might be talking about subjects like weight control, the glycemic index, nutritional deficiencies, supplementation, metabolic typing, skin care, news from mainstream medicine, or any number of other health-related topics.

Do we really need yet another health blog? There is certainly plenty of useful health information out there already. Unfortunately you'll also find a considerable amount of misinformation, questionable claims and just plain nonsense. You have undoubtedly seen health gurus contradict one another and probably wondered which side made sense; they couldn't very well both be right.

So what can I contribute and why would you want to read what I write? Well, I have a science background and should certainly be able to tell which health claims make sense and which don't, and which arguments are based on sound scientific evidence.

Obviously you need to take everything you read on health matters with a large grain of salt, including the posts on this blog. So don't hesitate to let me know when you disagree with me or have something useful to add. I'd much rather use your input to correct my mistakes and provide solid information for my readers than insist on being right and risk losing them.
